Considering their “age” Griffith’s short silents starring Lillian Gish should be in public domain. All the organisations and museums should be aware of above mentioned fact. This would be a cultural plus, a gift for those not so fortunate, who cannot afford 800 US dollars trip to MoMa, NY Public Library or Amon Carter Museum. A lot of early silents are being shown only by request in private sessions. With a small investment from early movie stars foundations and film producers like MGM, WB, Paramount, United Artists this objective can be achieved.
